Join us for a behind-the-scenes glimpse of one of the City’s most essential infrastructure sites, through the lens of five artists who have been developing projects around Calgary’s dynamic environment. Artists Becky Shaw, Steve Gurysh, Stokley Towles, Peter von Tiesenhausen and Tim Knowles were commissioned for this project. The artists, along with subject matter experts from Water and the Warehouse, will guide tours through a section of the Logistics A Warehouse, highlighting the significance of this space in servicing the city and demonstrate the diversity of professions, skills, and knowledge in Water Services.
Tours will be limited to 10 individuals per tour, registration will be on-site and tours will be offered on a first-come, first serve basis. The schedule for tours is as follows:
Significance to Calgary
The Logistics A Warehouse is a critical site for maintaining and operating Calgary. It provides the necessary resources to service, repair and maintain our city infrastructure. Many of the items in the Warehouse are unseen above ground, including valves, pipes and other critical spares for our Water infrastructure.
The Logistics A Warehouse is an essential site to The City of Calgary; serving multiple business units including Water Services and Transportation, it stores inventory ranging from batteries to LRT rail tracks, has production of street light fixtures and on site tailors to fit uniforms for employees.
